Description
Merrivane Fortified Red 2016 is a fortified red wine made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz in Portugal. Touriga Nacional is considered one of the best red grapes of Portugal, making dark, dense wines with notes of black berries and flowers. The terraced slopes of the Douro Valley in northern Portugal are known for port and dry red wines.
Fortified wine is made by adding grape spirit, so these wines are stronger than usual and keep longer. The wine can be served with cheese and sweets or as a calm closing glass.
